Education Every student deserves to graduate with more than a diploma. They deserve a direction. Josh believes California’s schools should prepare young people for tomorrow’s workforce through hands-on learning, career pathways, and skills employers actually need. As Superintendent, he’ll make sure that preparation reaches every student in every district. Education Young people have the power to shape the communities they live in, but only if they’re prepared to do so. Josh believes civic participation should be taught, practiced, and valued in every California school, giving students real opportunities to engage, lead, and make their voices heard. Education A diploma should mean being ready for college, but for too many California students, it doesn’t. Today, 80% of community college students and 30% of CSU students arrive needing remedial coursework. Josh is committed to closing that gap so every student who chooses college can succeed from day one. Education Too many California students reach high school without grade-level reading or math skills, and the consequences follow them for life. Josh’s approach starts early: evidence-based instruction in every classroom, strong teacher support, and real accountability so no student falls through the cracks.
