The City Clerk/Ward Officer serves as the official keeper of the municipal records. This joint position is also responsible for presenting the agenda and minutes for legislative and committee meetings.
Candidate shall be eligible to the office of councilman or recorder except he be assessed with and own at least five hundred dollars worth of real or personal property, and be a citizen entitled to vote at the election at which he is elected, and no person shall be elected to such office or retain or hold the same, who shall or be come an officer or employee of any person, firm, or corporation holding any franchise or contact under or with said city.
